Rising up

The #cantfly series of watercolour paintings was inspired after a long admission in hospital, and the challenges faced after discharge. Each depicts a challenge to re-engage with society, and the fears with that – although you have wings – you will forever be tethered to the ground.

“Rising up”, in more colourful tones than some of the other #cantfly series, is a hopeful and happy piece – painted at a time I felt hopeful and happy as well!
