About This Work
The #cantfly series of watercolour paintings was inspired after a long admission in hospital, and the challenges faced after discharge. Each depicts a challenge to re-engage with society, and the fears within that – although you have wings – you will forever be tethered to the ground.
“Begging for release”, showing the main character in the prone position, on her knees with hands clasped – a moment in time when the pain is overwhelming and you would do anything for peace.
